A road has been partially closed after a wildfire broke out in the Highlands.

Emergency services were called to the scene near the A830 at Lochailort at around 4.40pm on Thursday.

Police Scotland confirmed the road is closed 1.5 miles either side of Lochailort.

Drivers and members of the public have been urged to avoid the area.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Around 4.40pm on Thursday, April 24, 2025, we were made aware of a wildfire near the A830 at Lochailort.

“Emergency services are in attendance.

“The road is closed 1.5 miles either side of Lochailort and members of the public and drivers are asked to avoid the area.”
