The A9 has been closed in both directions near Aviemore after a lorry burst into flames.
Emergency services are at scene after the incident took place around 4.40am on Thursday.
Drivers are to expect traffic to build in the surrounding area.
Police said there were no reported injuries.
Local diversions have been put in place with motorists urged to use alternative routes.
A Police Scotland statement read: “The A9 is closed at Aviemore due to a lorry fire which was reported around 4.40am on Thursday, February 13.
“There are no reported injuries. A diversion is in place through Aviemore.
“Motorists are thanked for their patience.2
