The A9 has been reopened more than 16 hours after a crash between a motorbike and a van near a village in Caithness.

Emergency services were called to the road north of Dunbeath at around 3pm on Tuesday.

The road was shut in both directions.

Police Scotland confirmed that the busy stretch of road was reopened just after 7am Wednesday morning.

It is not known if anyone was injured.
