A supermarket worker had the surprise of a lifetime on a busy shift after her store assistant partner proposed to her as she worked on a checkout.
Aldi worker Lynne Fuller had been busy putting through a customer’s shopping at the Inshes retail park store in Inverness on Friday when a bagpiper began to play.
The piper, in full Highland dress, marched in, followed by her smartly-dressed boyfriend Mark Durrant, a store assistant in the same shop, who carried a bunch of roses.

Surprised shoppers and colleagues looked on as they witnessed Mark get down on one knee and pop the question.
A tearful Lynne accepted the proposal while colleagues and customers applauded.

An Aldi spokesperson said: “We’re so pleased to have played a small part in Lynne and Mike’s engagement.
“At Aldi, we’re all about celebrating life’s milestones with our employees, and this unique proposal will certainly be a cherished memory in our store’s history.
“Congratulations to the happy couple.”
