A woman has been reported missing after planning a Highland walk.

Joan Roberts, 57, was last seen in the area of Glen Garnock Train Station at around 7.10am on Saturday, June 13.

Officers said she had intended to travel by train to Corrour Train Station before walking to Fort William.

Joan is described as being around 5ft 1in tall with short brown hair.

When she was last seen, she was wearing a black fleece jacket, walking trousers and blue walking boots.

She was carrying a green rucksack with a green waterproof cover, a green tent and two walking poles – one black and one blue.

Police enquiries to trace Joan are ongoing and officers are urging anyone who may have seen her, or who has information about her whereabouts, to come forward.

Sergeant Meehan said: “Joan is an experienced walker but it is out of character for her not to be in touch with family and as time passes concerns are growing.

“I would ask anyone who has seen Joan or who has any information on her whereabouts to contact us.

“If you believe you have seen Joan or someone matching her description please get in touch.”
