A biker has been taken to hospital for treatment following a crash involving a tractor in the Highlands.

Emergency services were called to the A9 north of Kildary in Easter Ross around 8am on Monday to reports of a crash between a motorbike and the tractor.

The 29-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment.

The road, which was closed in both directions, has since reopened.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 07:59 to attend a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the A9 near Kildary.

“We dispatched an ambulance, an air ambulance with a critical care team, and a GP First Responder to the scene.

“We transported one patient to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.”
