A 39-year-old man suffered life threatening injuries in the crash in Caithness on Tuesday.

A biker is seriously injured in hospital following a crash between a motorcycle and a car in the Highlands.

Emergency crews were called to the smash between a a BMW R1100 motorcycle and a Skoda Karoq on the A836 in Caithness at 3.15pm on Tuesday.

The 39-year-old man suffered life threatening injuries as a result of the collision and currently remains in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

The driver and passengers of the car were not injured.

The road was closed for around eight hours for investigation and recovery of the vehicles involved.

Sergeant Ewan Calder of North Road Policing said: “At this time, we are continuing with enquiries to establish the full circumstances.

“We would urge anyone who may have witnessed the crash or have dashcam footage that may help with our enquiries to get in touch.”

“Anyone with any information should contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2072 of 14 June, 2022.”
