The bodies of a man and a woman have been found in a remote property in the Highlands.
Police were called to the home in Trantlemore, in north Sutherland, at around 12.10pm on Thursday.
Officers said enquiries were at an early stage and are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
The deaths are being treated as unexplained but they are not believed to be suspicious.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.10pm on Thursday, February 26, 2026, we were called to a report of concern for two people at an address in Trantlemore.
“Emergency services attended and the bodies of a man and a woman were found within.
“The deaths are being treated as unexplained however they are not believed to be suspicious.
“Enquiries are at an early stage and are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
“Officers remain in the area and anyone with any information or concerns can approach them.
“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.”
