Google MapsA body found in the water off the coast of Scotland has been identified as a missing man from Donegal.
A search was launched for a man seen entering the sea at Lagacurry Beach in Isle of Doagh on the afternoon of October 5.
The man in his early 70s was reported missing and presumed dead, with searches carried out along the coast of Donegal as part of the investigation.
Gardai have now confirmed that the body of a man found in water near Barra on October 24 was that of the missing man.
The force thanked the public for their assistance.
