A body has been recovered in the search for a diver who failed to return to a boat at Scapa Flow in Orkney last month.
Coastguard and lifeboat crews were dispatched in the search for the man, who has not yet been named, after he went missing in the water on September 28.
Despite searches through the day, HM Coastguard stood down operations around 9.30pm the following day.
A team of Royal Navy divers also assisted and recovered the body.
Police Scotland said formal identification was yet to take place, but the man’s family had been informed.
“On Monday, October 16, the body of a man was recovered near the island of Cava, in the Scapa Flow area,” a spokesperson said.
“While formal identification is yet to take place, the family of a diver reported missing on Thursday, September 28, has been made aware.
“Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this time.”
