A body has been recovered from a fire-hit home more than a week after a blaze tore through the house.
Emergency services were alerted to the fire in the Highland village of Dores at around 10.30pm on Monday, May 3.
Firefighters extinguished the flames, however the extensive structural damage made it unsafe for fire crews to enter the building.
Terry Glendinning, the householder, was believed to be in the property at the time of the fire and was feared dead after police were unable to account for his whereabouts.
On Wednesday, the force confirmed that a body has now been recovered.
Formal identification is yet to take place, however Mr Glendinning’s family has been informed.
Detective inspector Reuben Lindsay, from Inverness CID, said: “A joint investigation into the full circumstances of the fire remains ongoing, in partnership with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.”
