A broken rail has caused train cancellations and delays between Aberdeen and Inverness.
Network Rail announced on Tuesday that engineers were dealing with a broken rail near Insch on the Aberdeen-Inverness line.
As a result, train services between the two cities have been cancelled, delayed or revised.
The train operator said the line was closed towards Inverness while teams worked to replace it.
Network Rail said: “Thanks for your patience if your journey’s been affected, we know this is frustrating.”
ScotRail added ticket acceptance is in place with Stagecoach North between Aberdeen and Inverness.
Shortly after 3pm, Network Rail said repairs had been completed and it was working with ScotRail to return services to normal.
