A troupe of elves and a giant snow globe are all set to appear at Stratherrick’s Winter Wonderland next week.
Organisers say the event will be “bigger and better” than ever, with people from communities including Whitebridge, Gorthleck and Foyers all set to take part.
The inflatable snow globe, over two meters in height, has been added to the event to mark its third year.
Visitors will have the opportunity to get their picture taken with the troupe of elves, on site to help everyone enjoy the winter wonderland at The Wildside Centre in Whitebridge.
Event organiser, Caroline Tucker said: “This year it’s bigger and better than ever! Alongside the festive light show and inflatables outside the building, our newest attraction is the giant snow globe. You can come along and have your photo taken beside it with our troupe of elves.”
The festivities will also include a Christmas market with a range of local crafts and a kids’ corner to ensure there is fun for all ages.
Local primary schools and the Monadhliath singers will also perform with a programme of carol singing.
Jillian Barclay, who running the kids’ corner, said: “For the first time this year we have a Kids’ Corner, where the children can do some festive crafting and even get their faces painted while the adults enjoy a wander around the market or a warming hot chocolate”
Catriona Fraser, vice chair of Stratherrick and Foyers Community Trust, which funds the free event said: “Our Winter Wonderland is an opportunity for people from Foyers and Stratherrick to meet up, and for former residents now in Inverness to visit and revive friendships too.”
The event will run across December 9 and 10.
