Concern growing for Skye man missing after leaving dog with family almost two weeks ago Police Scotland

Concerns are growing for the safety of a man missing from Skye who left his dog with a family member before going for a walk.

Harry Macdonald was last seen almost two weeks ago in Beech Gardens near to the nature walk in Portree on September 18.

Around 4.45pm, the 59-year-old said he was going for a walk and left his dog with a family member, which is said to be out of character for him.

Another sighting on Wednesday, September 21 was reported but police say this is unconfirmed.

Police say extensive searches are being carried out and anyone with information is urged to get in contact.

Mr Macdonald is described as white, 6ft 2ins in height, with white and grey receding hair and dark, bushy eyebrows.

When last seen he wearing a navy blue hoodie, blue jeans, black walking boots and a red sports watch.

Inspector Craig Johnstone : “We are re-appealing for information to help trace Harry as his family remain extremely concerned and anxious about his welfare.

“Harry left his dog with a family member, which is completely out of character for him to do and said he was going on a walk.

“Extensive searches have been carried out and these will continue throughout the local area.

“If anyone has noticed someone matching his description, I would urge them to contact police as a matter of urgency.

“If you have any information which could assist with our enquiries, please contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident number 2186 of Wednesday, September 21.”
