The dramatic moment a decommissioned North Sea oil rig was brought down in a controlled explosion has been captured on camera.
The explosion, which took place at Kishorn Port on the west Highland coast on Thursday, has aided in the decommissioning of the Northern Producer, a former North Sea oil rig.
The blast broke up a 35-metre-tall section of the rig, which has become a well-known sight on the North Coast 500 route.
Local residents had been informed prior to the blast, and a safety cordon was put in place.
The former semi-submersible drilling rig, which had been later converted to a floating production facility, had been at the dry dock for seven months.
Its demise is part of the work to breathe life into a facility that has been dormant for 40 years.
