A diversion of more than 150 miles was in place while investigations were carried out

Driver dies in ‘serious’ crash between four vehicles on A82 in Glen GloyGoogle Maps

A 63-year-old man has died following a crash between four vehicles on the A82 in the Highlands.

Emergency services were called to the “serious” collision three miles north of the A82’s junction near Invergloy with the A86 at Spean Bridge at around 12pm on July 6.

The vehicles involved included an HGV, a Hyundai i10, a Range Rover Sport and a Skoda Karoq.

The driver of the Range Rover Sport was pronounced dead at the scene. 

His passenger, a 62-year-old woman, was airlifted to hospital. 

His family has been notified.

The 42-year-old male driver of the lorry, the 19-year-old male driver and 21-year-old female passenger of the Hyundai, and the 70-year-old female driver of the Skoda did not require hospital treatment.

The road had to be closed for several hours to allow for collision investigation work, and a diversion of more than 150 miles was in place.

Police are appealing for information about the crash.

Sergeant Ewan Calder said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man who lost his life. 

“Our enquiries into the circumstances of the crash remain ongoing and I would appeal to anyone who was driving in the area around the time of the collision to contact us. If you have dash cam, please check your footage for any images which could assist our ongoing enquiries.”
