Hillwalker dies after falling in Torridon mountains

A hillwalker has died after falling in the north-west Highlands.

The 37-year-old man was walking in the Torridon area when he fell on Thursday afternoon.

Police Scotland said the alarm was raised at around 4.25pm.

The man, who was walking on Spidean a’Choire Leith, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Members of Torridon Mountain Rescue Team assisted with the operation.

A police spokeswoman said a report had been sent to the procurator fiscal.
