A large emergency services response tackled a fire at Macleod’s Coaches garages in Sutherland.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was alerted to the blaze within a building in Acheilidh, Rogart, at around 5.55pm on Thursday.

Six appliances extinguished the fire, which was said to affect a number of garages. There are no reported casualties, and crews have now left the scene.

Macleod’s Coaches confirmed they are still operational as of Friday, March 27.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 5.55pm on Thursday, March 26 to reports of a building fire at Acheilidh, Rogart.

“Operations Control mobilised a total of six appliances to the scene to extinguish a fire affecting a number of garages.

“There were no reported casualties.

“Crews left after making the area safe.”
