A man who died after coming of his bike near Inverness has been named.
David MacKenzie died after coming of a turquoise Bianchi pedal bike on the B9006 at Westhill at around 8.45am on August, 30.
The 72-year-old was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness where he died a short time later.
The road was closed and reopened around 11.30am.
Police Scotland said the family have asked that their privacy is respected.
The force is urging anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward.
Sergeant Neil MacDonald said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of Mr MacKenzie at this difficult time.
“Enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to any witnesses to contact us.
“We would also ask anyone with dash-cam footage of the area at the time to get in touch.”
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident number 0955 of Saturday, August 30, 2025.”
