Two people have been charged after police found £10,000 worth of cocaine at properties in the Isle of Barra.
A 41-year-old man and a woman aged 62 were both arrested after officers assisted by Dogs against Drugs made the finds at addresses on St Brendan’s Road and in Castlebay.
More than £2,000 in cash was also recovered in the raids.
The suspects are due to appear at Lochmaddy Sheriff Court next Wednesday, September 3.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said:“Around 7am on Friday 22 August, 2025, drugs with an estimated value of around £10,000 were recovered from two properties on the Isle of Barra.
“Officers assisted by Dog Against Drugs executed warrants at addresses on St Brendan’s Road and Corran Ciosmul, Castlebay, where cocaine worth an estimated value of £10,000 and more than £2,000 in cash were recovered.
“A 41-year-old man and a 62-year-old woman were arrested and charged. A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal. The man and woman are due to appear at Lochmaddy Sheriff Court on Wednesday 3 September, 2025.
