A man has appeared in court in connection with a fire at a former hotel in Nairn.
Fire crews were called to the former Highland Hotel, now self-catering apartments, on the High Street at around 11.50pm on August 18 after a fire was set in a bathroom on the premises.
Four fire engines were sent to the scene, and the fire was extinguished.
Michael Stone appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court on Wednesday in connection with the incident.
The 45-year-old, from Nairn, was charged with wilful fire-raising, malicious mischief and culpable and reckless conduct.
Stone made no plea and was remanded in custody. He will reappear in court within the next eight days.
