A man has been arrested following a major crash in Orkney, which led to two being being airlifted and a third taken by ambulance to hospital.
Emergency services were called to the A961, three miles south of St Margaret’s Hope, South Ronaldsay, after reports of the collision at 11.15am on August 15.
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said they had dispatched three ambulances, a trauma team and two air ambulances to the scene.
Two people were taken to hospital in Aberdeen by helicopter. A third person was taken to Balfour Hospital by ambulance.
Police confirmed on Friday that a 60-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with road traffic offences.
He appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on August 22.
