A man has been arrested in connection with the death of a mother-of-two in Elgin.
Kiesha Donaghy was found dead in her Anderson Drive home on Thursday, November 16 at 7.20pm.
Detectives said the 32-year-old had been the victim of a “violent attack” and suffered major injuries to her head and launched a murder investigation.
On Thursday, police said a 41-year-old man has been arrested.
Detective superintendent Lorna Ferguson, of Police Scotland’s Major Investigation Team, said: “We continue to support Kiesha’s family and our thoughts are with them.
“I would like to thank the public for their patience and continued support.”
Police Scotland said that there were 40 dedicated officers from the Major Crime Investigation squad and local departments involved in the murder investigation.
“Kiesha was a popular girl, loved by her friends and family,” DS Ferguson said.
“Lots of friends are clearly concerned and devastated by her death.”
The small, tight-knit community of Elgin has been shocked by the killing.
Uniformed officers have been carrying out “reassurance patrols” and police urged anyone with any information to come forward.
