A man has been charged in connection with the alleged stabbing of a woman in the Highlands.
Emergency services were called to Carnmhor Road in Bonar Bridge at around 9.15pm on Thursday following reports of a disturbance.
A 50-year-old woman was found injured after she had allegedly been stabbed. She was taken to hospital for treatment.
A 24-year-old man was charged in connection with the disturbance. He is due to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court on Monday.
Detective Inspector Calum Reid said: “We understand that an incident like this can cause concern in a small local community. However, this is being treated as an isolated incident with no threat to the wider public.
“Officers remain in the area as part of our enquiries and anyone with concerns can approach them.”
