A man has died in a three-vehicle crash which closed down a major road in Nairn.
Emergency services were called to the scene on the B9101 near the junction of the A939 at around 7.35am on Friday.
A 23-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A woman was taken to hospital by ambulance, and her condition is currently unknown.
The A939 was closed while officers carried out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the crash. It has since been reopened.
Sergeant Christopher Donaldson said: “An investigation is under way to find out the cause of the collision and I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time to get in touch with us.
“In particular, if anyone has any dash cam footage which could assist our investigation, please pass it on.
“If anyone has any information, please contact Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 0492 of November 25, 2022.”
