A man has appeared in court charged with deliberately setting a fire after a blaze at a business park in Inverness.

A car was allegedly driven into a premises at Fairways Business Park shortly before midnight on March 8, before the building and car were set alight.

Two men, aged 34 and 38, were charged in connection with the incident.

Jack Ventham appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court on Monday charged with wilful fire-raising and knowingly possessing stolen property.

The 34-year-old, from Livingston, made no plea during his appearance and was remanded in custody.

He was committed for further examination and is due to appear again within eight days.
