A man has been seriously injured following a two-car crash on the A9 on Thursday.
Emergency services were called to the section of road between Brora and Golspie at Doll following reports of a collision at around 6.10pm.
One man was transported to hospital for treatment. His injuries have been described as serious.
Officers closed the road in both directions until 9.35pm.
A 32-year-old male driver was arrested in connection with road traffic offences. An investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident is still ongoing.
The A9 near Raigmore remains closed southbound as emergency services respond to another crash that happened shortly before 2am.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6.10pm on Thursday, December 19, 2024, we received a report of a crash involving two cars on the A9 between Brora and Golspie at Doll.
“Emergency services attended and one man was taken to hospital for treatment to what are described as serious injuries.
“A male driver, aged 32 was arrested in connection with a road traffic offence and enquiries are ongoing.
“The road was closed and re-opened around 9.35pm.”
