A mountain rescue team and search and rescue dogs have been brought in to join the hunt for a pensioner who went missing on a walking tour in the Highlands three weeks ago.
Police are continuing to appeal for information to trace 76-year-old Glyn Smith who is originally from Cambridgeshire.
He is thought to have been on a walking tour of the north of Scotland when he was last seen in the Oykel Bridge area of Sutherland on Sunday, April 24.
Mr Smith’s family are becoming increasingly concerned as he has not made contact, and also failed to meet a group of friends for a planned trip.
Over the weekend, Assynt Mountain Rescue were tasked alongside Search and Rescue Dog Association to assist in the search on the Cape Wrath Trail, north of Ben More Lodge.
Mr Smith is described as white, 5ft 6in tall and of slim build.
When he was last seen it’s believed he was wearing outdoor type clothing and carrying a rucksack.
Assynt Mountain Rescue have urged anyone who was walking to trail around the time he went missing to contact police with any information about Mr Smith they may have.
Anyone who thinks that they may have seen him since Sunday, April 24 is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference 2232 of May 12, 2022.
