Searches are under way to trace a man who has not returned home after going for a walk on the Isle of Lewis.

Police appealing for help say 53-year-old Andrew Yearly was last seen in the Keose area of Lochs at around 9am on Wednesday June 17.

Extensive enquiries are being carried out in the area, with support from the coastguard, fire service and mountain rescue teams.

Constable Sophie Graham said: “We are very concerned for Andrew’s wellbeing, and it is important that we trace him and confirm he is ok.

“We understand he left the house at some point today to go for a walk but has not returned home.

“We’re appealing for people in the area who think they may have seen Andrew, or who have any information regarding his whereabouts, to please get in touch.”

Mr Yearly has been described as around 5ft 5in tall, of a slim build, with short grey hair and glasses.

He may have been wearing black trousers and walking boots.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 3310 of Wednesday, June 17, 2026.
