Pupils in S1 at Nairn Academy have been told not to attend school on Wednesday due to staff absence connected to Covid.
The school made the announcement as they attributed the absences to staff either isolating or awaiting a PCR test, as well as staff illness and a lack of availability in supply staff.
It comes amidst an increase in Covid cases across Scotland.
In a statement, Nairn Academy wrote: “Due to ongoing pressures with staff cover, S1 pupils should not attend school tomorrow (Wednesday 8th).
“This is due to staff absence connected to Covid (isolating and awaiting/positive PCR), and staff illness as well as a lack of availability in supply staff.
“We appreciate this is far from ideal and will update further regarding the rest of the week.
“Thank you for your support and understanding.”
