An outbreak of norovirus has closed all wards at a hospital in the Highlands.
Both wards in Belford Hospital in Fort William have been closed to new admissions due to the virus, NHS Highland confirmed on Tuesday.
The hospital has put in place restricted visiting, with those wishing to make a visit urged to contact staff.
The health board also asked anyone who has symptoms, or lives with someone who has symptoms, of diarrhoea and/or vomiting to avoid visiting until clear for two days.
Norovirus is a common illness that can cause diarrhoea and vomiting.
Experts say it can be very unpleasant, but most people make a full recovery within a couple of days.
An NHS Highland statement read: “We have had to close both wards in Belford Hospital to new admissions due to Norovirus.
“Restricted visiting is also in place but please contact staff on the ward if you feel your visit is necessary and they will be able to advise.
“We would also ask that if you or someone you live with has symptoms of diarrhoea and/or vomiting you refrain from visiting a health or social care setting until clear for 48 hours.”
