Five hospital patients were discharged to a Skye care home in March before routine coronavirus testing was introduced, health chiefs have confirmed.
Ten residents have died at Home Farm Care Home – a coronavirus-hit facility in Portree.
Rhoda Grant, MSP for the Highlands and Islands, said she learned from NHS Highland that the transfer happened soon after the facility had sanctions lifted for failings which had prevented new admissions.
She was told the transfer happened after a risk assessment found staffing levels at the care home had improved.
A spokesman for the board said that as soon as the virus is identified at a care home it is immediately closed to new admissions and the last admission to Home Farm was in late March.
The home confirmed Covid-19 at the end of April. An outbreak was declared at the beginning of May.
