An 86-year-old man died after a crash in the Highlands on Wednesday morning.
The pensioner was driving a black Peugeot 2008 when it was involved in a collision with a lorry, north of Grantown-on-Spey.
The incident happened on a section of the A939, known as the Dava road, around 11am.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. An 81-year-old woman was taken by ambulance to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness, where she is in a serious condition.
Sergeant David Miller said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man who sadly died in this crash and our enquiries are ongoing to find out what happened.
“I would ask anyone who may have been driving along that stretch of road before the accident happened to get in touch and to check if they have any dash-cam footage that could help with our investigation.”
