A pensioner has been taken to hospital after being struck by a van in Orkney.
Police were called to Junction Road, in Kirkwall, at around 4.30pm on Friday after receiving reports that that an 84-year-old woman had been struck by a Volkswagen Transporter.
Emergency services took the woman to Balfour Hospital for treatment to serious injuries.
Her current condition is unknown.
The driver of the van, a man, was uninjured in the collision.
Officers have now launched an appeal for anyone with any information to come forward.
Sergeant Neil Macdonald said: “We are working to establish the full circumstances which led to this collision, and I would urge anyone who may have seen the incident or who has any information to get in touch.
“We would also be keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam footage from around that time.
“Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting reference 2372 of November 25.”
