Police are searching for a suspect after a man was left in hospital after suffering serious injuries in an attack in the Highlands.
Emergency services were alerted to a disturbance in the Gilbert Street area of Inverness around 2.25pm on Monday.
Officers confirmed that a 29-year-old man was transported by ambulance to Raigmore Hospital with “serious, but not life-threatening” injuries.
Police said the suspect is described as in his late 20s, around 5ft 8in and of slim build.
He was last seen clean shaven and was wearing a light-coloured Nike hooded top, a black jacket, and grey jogging bottoms.
Police have urged anyone with information to come forward and said enquiries are “ongoing”.
Detective sergeant Christopher Macleod of Inverness CID said: “Our enquiries are ongoing, and we are appealing for anyone who was in the area around the time and who witnessed anything to contact us.
“I would also appeal to anyone with any dashcam footage which may assist to get in touch.”
