A project to transform a 140-year-old building on the Isle of Lewis into a new community hub has been officially opened by the Princess Royal.
The £1m project sees the first shop in 18 years in the community of Carloway.
The former primary school has been converted into a modern, fit-for-purpose centre to serve generations to come.

A community fundraiser helped rally the funds for the project for the centre which will sell food and drink as well as arts and crafts and will be a central hub for everyone to socialise in.
Those living in the area say it will attract more tourism and foster a better sense of community spirit.
