A rescue operation was launched after a person became trapped in a cave system in the Highlands on Wednesday.
The individual had descended on a fixed rope into the Allt nan Uamh Stream Cave in the Assynt mountains and was unable to ascend.
A volunteer for the Scottish Cave Rescue Organisation was close by at the Bone Cave car park and was able to plan the quick rescue alongside the Assynt Mountain Rescue Team.
The uninjured caver was assisted with a caving ladder and escorted out of the cave.
A post from the Scottish Cave Rescue Organisation said: “We were called out by Police Scotland, along with Assynt Mountain Rescue Team to assist with a person who had descended a fixed-rope climb in the cave and was unable to ascend.
“By chance, one of our members was already very close by at the Bone Cave car park to do a caving trip, and so was able to plan and initiate a rescue quickly with members of Assynt MRT as they arrived.”
