Kyle RNLILifeboats were called to help save a fishing boat which was pushed out to sea by gale force winds.
Coastguards from the Kyle Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) launched the rescue boats from Kyle and Skye to save two people aboard the fishing vessel, which broke its mooring during the adverse weather in Plockton harbour.
The boat began drifting towards rocks on Thursday morning around 11.30am.
The ‘Spirit of Fred. Olsen’ lifeboat from Kyle made speed towards Plockton, battling the gale force winds, and arrived at the fishing boat for 11.45am.
The crew ensured that no one was injured after the vessel was swept out to sea.
The fishing boat was taken under tow back to the pontoons in Plockton.
Norman Finlayson, helm for the callout, says: ‘The wind was gusting at gale force and it was quite a rough journey, however once we were on scene, we soon had the vessel under tow.
“The crew of the fishing vessel were very well equipped, and did exactly the right thing in calling us once they began drifting.”
