The roof of a hotel in Shetland has been blown off after Storm Gerrit saw 80mph winds.
Yellow warnings for wind, snow and rain were in place across most of Scotland on Wednesday, with the Shetland Islands being hit particularly hard.
The extreme weather forced the closure of the A970 main road at Holmsgarth in Lerwick after significant damage was caused to The Shetland Hotel.
Shetland Islands Council said that the roof of the building was damaged near the ferry terminal.
Rubble was strewn across the street along with a trampoline.
A van was badly damaged, including having its windshield cracked, and a garden wall had collapsed.
Wind gusts of 84mph were recorded in Lerwick around midnight and the road reopened at around 9am on Thursday morning.
The council added that winds have now eased and temperatures are now rising above freezing.
Roads remain wet and slushy in places but are passable with care.
