The A9 was closed on Tuesday to recover a Royal Mail lorry that crashed off the road in heavy snow and icy conditions.
BEAR Scotland confirmed the major road was closed from 9am on Tuesday to recover the lorry which crashed on Monday.
Images showed the large lorry having crashed off the road around half a mile south of Berriedale in Caithness.
BEAR ScotlandIt comes amid amber warnings for snow and ice in the north of Scotland with driving conditions said to be “dangerous”.
Police Scotland are asking drivers to consider if their journey is really necessary with hazardous conditions forcecast throughout Tuesday.
The road reopened just before midday.
