A search has been launched for two dangerously out-of-control dogs seen at a mountain biking trail in the Highlands.

Police were made aware of two short white-haired English pointer dogs acting in a dangerous manner at Learnie Red Rocks on the Black Isle at around 4.30pm on Friday.

Officers are now looking to trace both the animals and the owner following the incident.

An investigation is ongoing.

A spokesperson said: “Enquiries are ongoing following a report made to us of two short white-haired English Pointer dogs being dangerously out of control at Learnie Red Rocks on the Black Isle about 4.30pm on Friday, March 20, 2026.

“We need to trace the owner of the dogs, as well as anybody who witnessed dogs of this description and saw them at the time.”

Those with information have been urged to contact the police and quote incident reference 2698 of March 20, 2026.
