Seven people taken to hospital after crash near Fort William

Seven people have been taken to hospital following a multi-vehicle crash near Fort William.

Emergency services were called to the A830, west of Corpach, just after 2pm on Wednesday, following the crash involving four vehicles.

The A830 was closed for several hours while investigations were carried out before reopening around 7pm.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Services (SAS) confirmed seven people had been taken to hospital.

They said: “We received a call at 2.24pm to attend a multiple vehicle road traffic collision on the A830, west of Corpach.

“We dispatched several ambulance response vehicles to the scene and transported seven patients to Belford Hospital.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.15pm on Wednesday, August 5, police were called to a crash involving four vehicles at Corpach, west of Fort William.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the crash.

“The road was closed for a number of hours and has since reopened.”
