A teenager has died and two people were taken to hospital after a crash involving a car and van on the Black Isle.
Emergency services were called to reports of a crash involving a white Ford Transit van and a black Ford Focus south of the Cromarty Bridge near Culbokie.
The incident happened at around 9.40pm on Monday.
Officers said an 18-year-old man was taken to hospital, where he died a short time later.
An 18-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man were also taken to hospital with serious injuries.
A 50-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident and released pending further enquiries.
The road was closed to allow for investigations to take place and reopened at 6.30am on Tuesday.
Sergeant Kate Finlayson said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died at this extremely difficult time.
“I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash or saw the vehicles prior to get in touch with officers.
“I’d also ask that anyone with dash-cam footage who were driving in the area at the time review this to see if it has captured anything that could assist with our investigation.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 3378 of November 10, 2025.”
