Three-time World's Strongest Man joins Gladiators line-up

Scottish strongman Tom Stoltman has joined the cast of the BBC show Gladiators.

The 32-year-old joins the show as Britain’s reigning strongest man and will be the tallest-ever cast member, standing at a lofty 6ft 8in.

Tom is part of the self-proclaimed world’s strongest brothers alongside his brother, Luke, and has been crowned the World’s Strongest Man three times in 2021, 2022 and 2024.

Hailing from Invergordon in the Scottish Highlands, Tom was the first Scottish athlete to win World’s Strongest Man and is one of the UK’s most celebrated strength athletes.

Now, Stoltman is turning his talents to television as he joins the line-up for Gladiator’s fourth series.

His sheer strength is likely to be an advantage against the other Gladiators, who are all bestowed nicknames, including Legend, Apollo and Electro.

Stoltman hopes that he can inspire people who watch the show to conquer their own life challenges.

He said: “This is a dream opportunity and I’m incredibly proud to become a Gladiator.

“I’ve spent my life pushing myself to see what I can achieve, and joining this incredible show is the next challenge.

“I’m excited to bring my strength, determination and personality to the arena but, most importantly, I want people watching to feel inspired to believe in themselves and take on their own challenges.”

While Stoltman already has a nickname, the Albatross, his Gladiator name and first look will be revealed in due course.

Filming for the new series kicks off in Sheffield later this month, with an air date sometime in 2027.
