A person has been cut from a wreckage after a three-vehicle crash which closed a road in the Highlands on Thursday.
Shortly after 1pm, emergency services were called to the A835 near the Tore roundabout after reports of the collision.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said it mobilised three vehicles and a heavy rescue unit.
Firefighters used specialist cutting equipment to remove one casualty trapped within a vehicle before they were taken into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.
Fire crews left the scene just before 2pm, however, police and ambulance remain in attendance and the road is closed.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a three vehicle crash on the A835 north of Tore Roundabout around 1.10pm on Thursday, July 13.
“The road is currently closed and emergency services are at the scene.”
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were called to assist emergency service partners at 1.20pm on Thursday, July 13 to reports of a road traffic collision involving three vehicles on the A835, near Newton of Ferintosh.
“Operations Control mobilised three fire appliances and a heavy rescue unit to the incident.
“Firefighters used specialist cutting equipment to safely remove one casualty trapped within a vehicle.
“They were transferred into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service for treatment. “Crews left the scene at 1.46pm after ensuring the area was made safe.”
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 1.05pm today to attend a three-car RTC on the A835.
“We dispatched two ambulances to the scene and one patient is being treated on scene.
“A second patient has been transported to Raigmore Hospital.”
