A Highland police station has been taped off after being targeted by vandals.

The main entrance to the force’s Thurso offices was extensively damaged with multiple glass panels smashed.

The Princes Street police station has been cordoned off since early on Monday morning.

A handwritten sign at the entrance states: “No Entry. Please call 101.”

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “On the morning of Monday, July 27, damage to doors at Thurso police station was discovered.

“It is being treated as vandalism and enquiries are ongoing.”
