Two children were airlifted to hospital after a crash between a car and an HGV that shut the A9 for nine hours.
Emergency services were called to the crash at the junction with the A938 around 2.20pm on Wednesday.
Two ambulances, a critical care paramedic, HM Coastguard, and a trauma Team (PICT) were sent to the scene.
The driver of the car, a 47-year-old man, was taken by ambulance to the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
The passengers, an eight-year-old girl and a four-year-old boy, were airlifted to the same hospital. All remain at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary in a stable condition.

The driver of the HGV was not injured.
Following initial investigations, the road reopened around 11pm, and crash investigations remain ongoing.
Police are now appealing for members of the public who stopped to help before emergency services arrived on scene to come forward.
Sergeant Kate Finlayson said: “We are aware members of the public stopped to help before emergency services attended. I’d like to thank them and ask any who have not already spoken to police to make contact with us.
“I’m also appealing to anyone else who saw what happened or has dash-cam footage from the A9 in the Carrbridge area around the time of the collision, to please come forward as it may assist our enquiries.”
Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference 1971 of July 16.
