A hospital is on high alert following an outbreak of coronavirus.
Ward 2C at Raigmore Hospital in Inverness has been closed to new admissions and visitors in a bid to stem the spread of the deadly virus after a “small number” of Covid-19 cases were detected.
On Saturday, a spokesperson for NHS Highland said patients are being clinically assessed and monitored with normal care continuing.
They added: “All appropriate infection prevention and control measures have been put in place.
“Close contacts have been identified and given appropriate advice and support.
“We would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone they should continue to adhere to physical distancing guidelines, wear a face covering when in enclosed spaces, clean your hands and surfaces regularly and immediately self-isolate and book a test if you develop symptoms.”
An update is expected on Sunday afternoon.
