This is the moment two lynx were captured after being illegally released in the Highlands.
The public was warned not to approach the wild cats after police were notified of sightings in the Drumguish area near Kingussie at around 4.20pm on Wednesday.
Specially trained RZSS staff from the Highland Wildlife Park assisted police in efforts to trace the animals.
On Thursday, the wild cats were humanely trapped overnight.
They were cared for at Highland Wildlife Park before being transferred to Edinburgh Zoo, where they will remain in quarantine for 30 days.
Police confirmed the animals were not from the nearby wildlife park, and it is understood they were comfortable around humans. The lynx may have been previously cared for domestically.
RZSS chief executive David Field said: “We condemn the illegal release of these lynx in the strongest possible terms.
“It was a highly irresponsible act, and it is very unlikely they would have survived in the wild due to a lack of adequate preparation.”
