Woman, 23, dead after falling into water at beauty spot

A woman has died after falling into the water near a popular Highlands beauty spot on Saturday.

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 1.40pm after reports that someone had fallen into the water at Rogie Falls.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service dispatched crews to assist with the operation, however, the stop call was made at 4.24pm.

A 23-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene. There are no suspicious circumstances, and a report is due to be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1.45pm on Saturday, June 14, 2025, we were called to a report of a woman having fallen into the water in the Rogie Falls area of Wester Ross.

“Emergency services attended; however, the 23-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

“There are no suspicious circumstances, and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
